American people like Japanese cars more than American cars?

American people have a love for their country. They are proud of their country and Made-in-USA products. Especially, They make a boast of their advanced Technology and well-known Hollywood blockbuster movies. However, when they have a question like “If you buy a brand new car, what kind of car do you want?”, they say that they want to buy a japanese car like Toyota, Honda or Nissan but not like GM, Ford or Chrysler. Of course, There are some American people who say that they want to buy a American car. But, They’re a few. Actually, we can see that Japanese cars are more popular than American cars in US through car sales trend during last several years. If so, why do American people prefer Made-in-Japan cars than Made-in-USA cars? American people rate Japanese craftsmanship high and they think that this craftsmanship makes japanese people make very strong and elaborate superior cars. On the other hand, they think that American car companies consider about product detail and design less than Japanese car companies. American people like “SIMPLE” traditionally but their taste has been changed. They like cars that are designed beautifully and made elaborately.
I agree. The car I drive is a Honda Civic. I was in favor of that since I had studied up on it, and Hondas are considered to be very reliable. My last car was a Dodge Neon, and I had a lot of trouble with it, leaking oil, stalling, etc. I’ve had no trouble with the Honda (so far).

My parents, who are Americans living in Seattle, refuse to buy American cars, and I think they actually discriminate a little against American car buyers. They had one bad experience with a mini-van that didn’t work too hot and could be stolen pretty easily. Now both of the family cars are Mazda, and my car they gave me before college was a Toyota.

Wow some of you guys are totally being immature about this. Some people have different tastes and you guys calling them bastards is totally ridiculous. I personally also like any car as long as it looks good and is reliable. The only car I really don’t like are mustangs and hummers. But I can totally see why people would like Japanese cars more.

Ok. Youre all acting stupid. especialy this article. Advancement in technology my ass. we get a lot of technology from japan. We make things, but they imrpove them. Videogames originated here, yet now in japan theyre much more advanced and we receive a lo of them. Cars, we made them they improved them. just cause you prefer anothers countrys technology does not make you a “japanese bastard”, that was directed to you hammer.

…We use Lexus, toyotas and hondas, which i believe all of them are japenese cars except for the toyotas they are built in kentucky, maybe american workers, but Japenese parts
